HelloApps.Com - 2010/04/22 04:39 Hi Raúl and forum !

I've seen that most recent posts about MSRS in this forum are just about what I'm doing, I hope this is not because of more MSRS-rejection, but to research being done in different perspectives.

Nevertheless, I wanted to post again for "promoting" some very recent applications that I haven't seen around any forum on MSRS. It is about Helloapps, since December 2009 I started to look and follow what this people is doing around the robotics area, simulated and on real implementations, just as I've been following this forum.

Recently, this person, whose name is Young Joon Kim, has developed very nice tools not just for programming through MSRS, but taking much more depth into interfacing with Matlab, Labview, Java, Python, and many other useful and popular tools in this research and hobbists' area.

Take a look, I think this could be very useful mostly for quick simulated set-up, VPL programming, and for course projects, were time is a very limited resource and you must do, test, and show that everything works at least in simulation. I think undergraduates around the world are going to be very happy about this.

Enjoy, and hope this seems useful.

Re:HelloApps.Com - 2010/04/23 19:59 Thanks for the pointer Chuy!
It looks like quite an useful set of tools... Actually I re-posted the announcement from the RDS Blog.

Maybe we don't see much discussion going on because there is not a huge amount of people out there working with these technologies.. After all, it requires a heavy learning curve, and people who were already working with other middleware or architectures are really reluctant to change (and/or are not very keen on having to use Windows (.Net Framework) with their robots). Of course, on the other side there is the benefit of using CRR and DSS.

Cheers,
Raúl.
